Acupuncture is one of the oldest documented forms of healthcare. At Carling Massage Therapy & Acupuncture Clinic in Ottawa, Ingrid Viktorinova has been integrating acupuncture into her practice since 1995, drawing on more than 26 years of training in natural healthcare.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, single-use needles into specific points on the body. The goal is to influence the body’s nervous system, circulation, and pain pathways. Most people are surprised by how comfortable the experience is — the needles are about the thickness of a hair, and the sensation is usually a mild tingle or warmth, not a sting.
Your first appointment starts with a brief health-history conversation so Ingrid can understand what you’re hoping to address. The treatment itself takes about 30–45 minutes. Many clients combine acupuncture with massage therapy in the same session — ask about the 60-minute massage + 30-minute acupuncture combo.
Acupuncture sessions are eligible for direct billing under most extended health benefit plans that cover Registered Massage Therapy. See our rates page for the current pricing on combo sessions and standalone acupuncture appointments.
